Gordon B. Hinckley, the president and prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, passed away last night shortly after 7 p.m., in his apartment in Salt Lake, surrounded by his family. He was 97 years old.As I heard this news I didn't feel sad as I expected to...I was filled with a sense of peace - knowing that he lived a life full of service and love for the Savior. I pictured him being welcomed home into the arms of his loving wife and our Savior, Jesus Christ. I will miss his loving words, his sweet sense of humor, and the tireless example he provided for members and non-members alike.
